Winners of the Dubarry Best Dressed Award announced in Lexington KY for the 2009 Rolex 3 Day Event |

(May 1st 2009) Congratulations to Buck Davidson and Ashley Adams who won the Dubarry Best Dressed Awards for their overall appearance at the first horse inspection at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event . Just as the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event represents the epitome and absolute top of the line of the sport of Eventing, Dubarry of Ireland stands for the absolute best in equestrian and outdoor footwear, and prides itself on tradition and quality. Davidson and Adams were selected as the winners of the Best Dressed Award during the First Horse Inspection which took place on Wednesday, April 22nd and each went home with a new pair of Dubarry boots. During the inspection, riders presented their mounts to the Inspection Committee, comprising the three members of the Ground Jury and the Veterinary Delegate, to be inspected for general condition, soundness and fitness. Horses are presented in immaculate condition with gleaming coats and glistening tack. The Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event is regarded as one of the world’s premier equestrian events. It awards $250,000 in prize money and is part of the Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing. Dubarry is renowned for producing high quality leather footwear for outdoor pursuits and their boots are seen on the feet of everyone from eventers to hunters and winter fashion wearers. Still fully Gore-Tex lined, waterproof to the top, breathable and constructed from Dubarry's unique DryFast-DrySoft leathers, the Clare is built on a new sole with more heel and a low profile toe tread. Designed with a little more calf profiling than the Galway boot the Clare boot has a gusseted zip in the rear ankle/calf section and a smooth leather wear protection pad on the inside leg. IEBA Expo Confirms Dubarry's Growth Potential in the US Market(Feb 2008) At January's IEBA Expo in Richmond VA, The Dubarry Outdoor Collection presented itself formally for the first time to buyers from the US equestrian retail market. A phenomenal response from the industry's top buyers resulted in several new key locations being established for the Fall 2008 season. Dubarry are to announce these locations in July 2008, but have indicated that these stores are, 'Landmark accounts that fit perfectly with the well established Dubarry retail strategy of appointing only high quality service environments with unique situational opportunity'. Dubarry have seen remarkable increases in sales in their established European market over the last 5 years and the relatively new US market seems to be following suit. THE STORY SO FAR
Chapter #1 - The Beginning
Ten years ago we developed the country waterproof/breathable Gore-Tex lined leather boots and introduced them to Europe. The new concept of a waterproof leather boot as an alternative to knee-high rubber boots required some demonstration, so in order to get the point across, we attended scores of events and spent our days standing in buckets of water in our boots and tweed, sipping champagne in front of our mobile drawing room from Ireland (complete with furniture, granny’s rugs and the family portraits!).. It was a huge success.
Now, Ten years and over 800 events later, we have converted 10’s of thousands of European ladies and gentlemen from wearing wellies (rubber boots) to our lightweight waterproof, breathable boots from Ireland. In the process we have also established ourselves as one of the most prestigious footwear brands in the European country/outdoor market. Read on..

Chapter #2 - The North American Market
In 2005, an Englishman, an Irishman and a Dutchman traveled to Lexington KY with a truck full of furniture, granny’s rug and a few hundred pairs of boots. The response was overwhelming. That was the Rolex Kentucky 3 Day Event. We are now a regular and much loved feature at many events across the US (Equestrian, Lifestyle & Hunting) and have built a rapidly growing following of loyal customers in the USA.
The Dubarry Outdoor Footwear Collection has been performing exceptionally in U.S. stores since September 2007. We will be appointing another small select group of retailers for 2009.
